I'm talking about fashion. Now a lot of people think they know a thing or two about it... and truth be told they don't! So in this blog I'm going to talk about a couple of my favourite "staple" pieces for the spring/summer season.
I'll start from the bottom up. The first essential piece I think for this spring season will be flat shoes. My favourite that I absolutely adore are TOMS. Toms make canvas slip-on runners in a wide variety of colours and patterns. They even make them for men, which is an added bonus! They are so functional, reasonably priced at ($65 a pair). But there is an added bonus, for every pair YOU buy, they DONATE a pair to children who don't have shoes. With just a simple pair of shoes kids are accepted to school, which allows them to have a chance at a decent future! SO COOL! I think rolling a simple pair of blue jeans (such as Levi's) and wearing a cool pair of these shoes will be a cute and easy spring outfit.
Now moving up to bottoms I have a couple choices for comfy, cute, and trendy bottoms for this spring. The first being a little more formal and totally office appropriate. I think people always think of these dreary, oatmeal coloured pants when people mention kakhis. BUT this season Gap has reinvented the kakhi. They have created fun pants that are formal enough to wear to the office, yet casual enough to wear running errands on a Saturday. They're SO comfortable and are a very flattering cut.I love the way they have these kakhis rolled once and paired with that super cute vintage looking shoe!
The second bottom that I absolutely love are the Lululemon Wunder Under Crop. They are a tight fitting legging that cuts off mid-calf. They are really nice because they are made out of a material that isn't thin or see-through. They are so cute worn with a sweater or on their own with a t-shirt. They come in cool colours and can easily be covered if you're self conscious about your behind. A must have and at ($68) you can't go wrong.

Now for tops... I'm going to kind of morph one idea into two different options. My favourite thing ever is wearing a simple T-shirt and cardigan. The first cardigan is a very lightweight option. It can easily be worn on the warmest summer day (so there is no need to fret that you're outfit is messed up because you have to remove the cardigan). The second cardigan is longer and made of a heavier but super cozy material. It essentially goes with anything and looks long and cozy! Both cardigans look great with that simple t-shirt or even paired with a fancier top for an evening out.
I hope these options give you some new ideas for spring! The key is to keep the colours light and fresh. Also remember to keep it casual yet classy!
Ta Ta for now
